it’s summer in my soul again

despite the frigid, biting cold
it’s summer in my soul again.

despite the roaring, horrid times
it's summer in my soul again.

everything feels wondrous
fresh
bright
possible.

depression has peeled back
its freezing fingers from around
my heart
and mind.

i breathe, unfurl my wings
reach and reach for warmth and light.
laughter bubbles
hope glows.

and oh!
i am free
free
free!

in spite of so much
it's summer in my soul again.

Hey, guys!! Happy February! I hope you enjoyed this little poem of mine! I haven't shared one of these monologue-things since July!

What is one good thing God gave you in January? I'll go first: After being inspired by Olivia at summerof1999, I began consistently writing poetry again!

Thank you so very much for reading my blog today!
Go be epic!

  1. Lovely poem! I'm looking forward to reading more :)
One of the best parts of my January was that after a lot of prayer I decided on what I wanted to do for a career and found a lot of good universities for it at the same time!

    1. Thank you, Eva!

Aw, yay!! I'm so happy for you, Eva! That choice is /such/ a hard one, but I'm so glad you were able to choose! I pray your way will be blessed as you continue working toward your career choice!
