The Music Tag | Bringing back a tag that's literally years old 😆

Today I thought we’d do something fun!! So, I’ve unearthed an old blogging tag to complete! I absolutely adore music, and the last time I did a tag inspired by it, I had so much fun! I found this tag on Nicole Dust's blog here.

Without further ado, let's begin!!!

Rules:

  • Write ten songs that come on shuffle (no skipping)-- No promises 😎
  • Write your favorite lyric from each song
  • Tag some people
1. Haven by Stray Kids
"STEP OUT
Do what you want!"

This song inspires me to keep stepping out and showing up
no matter what!

2. O by Coldplay
"So fly on, ride through
Maybe one day, I'll fly next to you
Fly on, ride through
Maybe one day, I can fly with you
Fly on
Fly on
Fly on"

I found this song through Felix from Stray Kids. It just has a nice,
dreamy, atmospheric feel to it that I love.

3. So I Could Find My Way by Enya
"So let me give this dream to you
Upon another shore
So let me give this dream to you
Each night and evermore"

This song reminds me of the elves of LOTR. I think it's something they
might sing. Most of of the songs I've listened to from Enya feel that way.

4. Place in this World by Michael W. Smith
"A heart that's hopeful
A head that's full of dreams
But this becoming is harder than it seems
Feels like I'm looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need your light to help me find
My place in this world
My Place in this world"

I originally found this song through the movie A Week Away back in 2021.
But at the time, I liked the 80s instrumentals of this original version more.

5. Ordinary Miracle by Sarah McLachlan
"It's not that unusual
When everything is beautiful
It's just another ordinary miracle today
...
It seems so exceptional
That things just work out after all
It's just another ordinary miracle today
Sun comes up and shines so bright
And disappears again at night
It's just another ordinary miracle today"

Sometimes, you just need to be reminded that there's hope and it's a miracle
to simply be alive. <3.

6. Unchangeable Love by Juniper Vale
"Out of sand my heart is shaped
Forming into love or hate
No matter how hard I try, how hard I try
Fear won't flee my fickle mind
I need unchangeable love
A house that's built on the rock
A storm is raging on me
As I'm pulled to the deep
The waves can't move me at all"

I actually associate this song with Naksu from Netflix's Alchemy of Souls.
I think it fits her arc spanning both seasons.

7. The Moment of Truth by Survivor
"Once in your life you make a choice
Ready to risk it all
Deep in your soul you hear a voice
Answering to the call
Though you know that it won't be easy
It's a promise you make for love
For the people that keep believing
And the one that you're thinking of"

This song is left over from my Karate Kid obsession back in 2021! 😆

8. Tomorrow by Andrew Ripp
"Stuck in a day that's gray and lonely
Just stick out my chin, grin, and say
The sun will come out tomorrow
Just gotta hang on until tomorrow come what may"

A more melancholy, mature sounding version of the song from Annie

9. Blueprint by Stray Kids
"The answers the world has given me are wrong
...
My future is bright
The excitement surrounds me
I hope I will shine
Never never never let go
My future is bright
The excitement surrounds me
I hope I will shine
Never never never let go
My future is bright"

This song came out during the summer of 2020, and I think I would
have LOVED it had I discovered it then. Regardless, it still encourages me today,
here in 2025.

10. Only Hope by Switchfoot
"I give you my apathy
I'm giving you all of me
I want your symphony singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs
I'm giving it back
And I lay my head back down"

Love this song a lot! Reminds me of simpler times.

  1. I'm listening to O right now...I like it! The vibes are vibing. :D And a melancholy version of Tomorrow sounds quite interesting...I think I'll have to check that out too.

Thank you for tagging me; this looks like a really fun one!

    1. Yes, O is so dreamy and beautiful and sad all at the same time! Oh, please do! That cover of Tomorrow is one of my favorite songs!

You’re very welcome! I can’t wait to read your answers!

  2. Enya makes me think about LOTR elves too, and probably because of the songs she did for LOTR. 😅 She has that dreamy, wistful, and just a bit of a subtly whimsical factor.
I'll admit that besides Enya, I've never heard of these artists/songs before. I guess I'm dawdling in my classical+Laufey+Carpenters sphere, so thanks for motivating me to take the time to step out into other genres! LOL
    Thanks for tagging me!

    1. Same, that's why I think of her music as fantasy elf music too! She was a perfect pick for the soundtrack!

I've listened to some of Laufey over the years. I love how she's bringing back vintage music! And I've never heard of the Carpenters until now. I just listened to the song at the top of their spotify, "close to you", and I like it! Nice and calming. If you're more into ballads or sort of vibey songs, I'd recommend "O" and "Ordinary Miracle" from my playlist above. I think they most suit that type of feeling. And perhaps "Unchangeable love" as well.

You're very welcome! Can't wait to read your answers!

  4. of course you listen to Enya. OF COURSE. I love her powerful yet soft music. I also listen to Coldplay but other than that most of these are new to me! I'm going to see if I find some new favorites ;)

  5. LOL!! Funnily enough, my Enya listening had been confined to her song May it Be for years. But last year, I read an old post from either yours or your sister’s blog that had her song, The Loxian Gate. I loved it, and went on a spree to find more of her music! So we actually have you or her to thank for that song and several of her others ending up in my playlists! XD
    Yes, Coldplay is SO good!!
Eep, yes, I hope you do!! I want to recommend them all because I’m bias and think my music taste is impeccable, but what might most fit your vibe from the list above are Ordinary Miracle and Unchangeable Love. If you listen to them or any of the others, feel free to come back and let me know your thoughts on them! :)
