August days

There are four months left in 2024. Or, rather, more like four and three weeks. It seems the older I get, the faster time flies. It's August and summertime where I live. The mornings are warm, the afternoons bring thunderstorms, and the evenings find fireflies glowing outdoors when I pause to peek out of windows.

How is the nature where you are?

With almost two-thirds of the year behind us now, I thought I'd take this time to look back on the last several months and see how my creative pursuits have done so far.

In terms of blogging, my goal was to publish 13 posts this year, since that would be one more post then the number I published last year (the year I posted the most I ever had). And, as of right now, I have posted 15 times this year!! 16 counting this one! 12 posts are on my old blog and I've posted 4 times (counting today's) on my new blog here! So I am so happy to discover that I've already hit my goal, which is the benefit of setting small, more achievable ones, haha!

With writing, my 2024 goal was to finish the project I'm drafting. And I think I'm close to accomplishing that, too, before the clock strikes 12 a.m. on January 1st 2025. I've been writing the climax of the project for a couple months now, but I'm not sure how many scenes it's going to take to finish the climax and wrap up everything cleanly.

How has your own August been so far? I hope your days have been enjoyable and that you are able to take steps towards your dreams.

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and have an amazing rest of your day!

A song to work towards your dreams to💫(and, yes, it's Owl City, so at times I have no idea what he's talking about, lol, but I think I understand the general idea):

  1. Where I live, the summer weather is just as you described but we don't have very many fireflies this year. It is a shame because they are probably my favorite part of summer. Your dedication to blogging consistently is inspiring me to post more!
