The close of summer

Though I know you are technically supposed to abide by the actual dates for when it is the agreed upon time that a season has turned into another, ever since I was a child, I have, in my own head, gone by the changing of the months to indicate seasons. And, as of the publishing of this post, there is a week left in August and we are heading into September. In my mind, Summer is almost over, though it's official end date isn't for another four weeks.

In any case, how was your Summer overall? I hope you were able to spend it learning or healing or doing something worthwhile and beautiful. Did you watch any good movies or shows, or listen to any good music?

To wrap up the Summer of 2024, I thought I'd share with you two songs with Summertime vibes so as to help you make the most of the last week (or several weeks 😉) of the season.

  1. you just reminded me of the summer when I was about 17. I would listen to that Sabrina Carpenter song on repeat while I drew in my sketchbook! I'm sad to see the warmth and the sunshine go, but I will try my best to love fall for all the ways it is unique.

the best thing about this summer for me was that I was very active, swimming, walking, spending time outside. hopefully all of that activity will make me want to hibernate come winter hehe.

    1. Thank you for sharing that memory, I loved reading that! The album that song is from plus the songs from her album right after that one are pretty nostalgic for me, as well.
And, yes, I hope you are able to enjoy the colder months, even if you choose to hibernate the whole way through! ; )

    2. me too! I wish she still made music like that.

don't tempt me. I might just bundle up and hide in some warm space until the first bud of spring. but I will do my best to embrace the beauty of it all!
