this or that || an autumn tag

Hello, everyone! Today I am doing a tag by my good friend, Nie! Her blog has such a gorgeous aesthetic and she writes such soulful words! I can’t say enough good things, so definitely go visit her site!

Today is also my first time EVER doing a blog tag! I began blogging back in 2021 and, with so many of the original bloggers no longer posting regularly or at all, it was just me blogging away on my lonesome.

But, finally, that long awaited day is here! Let’s begin!

πŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚

I have been instructed that I may only choose one of the two items offered each round, but I’m afraid I cannot promise such strict adherence to the rules!

Plum or burgundy?πŸ‚ As a color to wear, I choose plum.

Boots or sneakers? 🍁 Sneakers. They’re generally more comfortable. And I love to dress for comfort.

Cardigan or rain jacket? πŸ‚ Cardigan. More cozy.

Stripes or plaid? 🍁 I don’t like either! But if I absolutely had to choose, then plaid.

Brown or orange? πŸ‚ Orange, if we’re talking about clothing and fall decorations.

Sweaters or layering? 🍁 Sweaters.

Hat or ear muffs? 🍁 Hat. But I’d prefer neither.

Pumpkin or apple? πŸ‚ Pie? Neither. My favorite autumn pie is sweet potato!

Cinnamon or nutmeg? 🍁 Cinnamon.

Cocoa or coffee? πŸ‚ Cocoa. I rarely drink coffee.

Oatmeal or cinnamon roll? 🍁 Cinnamon roll all the way!

Soup or chili? πŸ‚ Chili!

Apple cider or cinnamon tea? 🍁 Don’t really like apple cider much, so cinnamon tea.

Starbucks or local coffee? πŸ‚ Local coffee!

Hard back or soft back? 🍁 Hard back. I hate the way some soft backs bend and then are forever broken!

Thriller or cozy story? πŸ‚ Cozy!

Fall or winter break? 🍁 Winter. It’s longer, and Christmas!!

Handwritten or typed notes? πŸ‚ I mostly type my notes.

Love letter or journal entry? 🍁 Journal entry.

The Hobbit or the Prisoner of Azkaban? πŸ‚ In terms of books, the prisoner of Azkaban. In terms of films, then The Hobbit. Speaking of which I need to go rewatch the Hobbit trilogy sometime...

Bookstore or thrift store? 🍁 Bookstore. But only if I’m guaranteed to find books I’d like to read.

Halloween or thanksgiving? πŸ‚ Thanksgiving. More food, and right after we go into December!!

Trick or treating or passing out candy? 🍁 Neither. I stay in on Halloween night.

Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown? πŸ‚ I haven’t seen either films.

Pumpkin carving or corn maze? 🍁 Corn maze. Sounds like a fun adventure to go on with friends!

Folk or orchestral music? πŸ‚ Orchestral. Orchestral forever and always.

Train ride or horseback riding? 🍁 Hehe, I’m cheating. Both!

Bonfire or indoor game night? πŸ‚ Game night.

Stargazing or journaling? 🍁 Stargazing.

Rain or wind? πŸ‚ Rain.

Fox or bat? 🍁 Fox. They’re cute.

Brownie or boggart? πŸ‚ Brownie. I do not want a boggart in my attic, thank you very much.

Early rise or late night? 🍁 Late night. Though I don’t like either. I love sleep far too much.

Violin or cello? πŸ‚ Cello. Love the deep resonance.

Crunchy leaves or rustling corn? 🍁Crunchy leaves.

Well, there you have it! My very first tag completed! Thanks for the tag, Nie!

As for you, dear reader, if you are seeing this and have a blog, consider yourself tagged! Also, thank you for spending your time with me and have a fantastical rest of your day!

Go be epic!!

  1. I’m jumping with excitement reading this! First, thank you for the kind words about my blog <3 And I too have felt as if the blogging world was dying out in the last few years as well and that is why I adore your blog so much. It is a pocket or whimsy to go to and take solace in. I haven’t even read the whole post yet I had to stop and comment and now I will read it veraciously haha

    1. Yay! I’m so glad to have made you happy! And you’re welcome!!
Thank you so much for that compliment, that is exactly what I wanted people to feel when they visited my site because that is what I have been wanting to read and feel as well. So to hear that I’ve accomplished that goal makes me very happy! <3 <3

  2. Once again, I shouldn’t be surprised but I AM, that you have such good taste in music. Please tell me that the fact you included If You Believe from Disney fairies means you listen to Celtic Woman!

What a joy to read! I enjoyed this so much. The pictures you chose are so autumnal and beautiful. They invoke feelings of cool, still fall evenings in me.

I am due to rewatch the Hobbit as well! And fall is the perfect time to do so.

Thank you for filling out the tag - I am honored to be your first!

    1. Lol, thank you!
I had to do some digging to see what the connection was between this song and Celtic Woman, lol! I had no idea If You Believe was sung by a former member of the group! *hides*
While I can’t say that I know every one of their songs, several have made their way into my playlists over the years and I really, really love what I’ve heard so far! Any special recommendations I should listen to?
I’m so glad you enjoyed the photos, and I just put all the Hobbit films on hold at my library because I realized how much I wanted to rewatch them after this post, haha!
Once more, a thousand thanks for your compliments. I’m thankful for you and I hope you have an amazing day ahead!

    2. haha you can come out from hiding - I am happy you even know of them at all! YES. special recommendations are Nocturne from their Believe album, The Butterfly from their Songs from The Heart album, and Black is The Color from Believe. there are many good ones but those are some of my favorites. Did you end up watching The Hobbit films? I never did get around to it but they happened to be playing in the hotel my sister and I were staying in and we got to watch a good portion of the first together! that was at least nice.

sorry for the late response - your wishes that I have an amazing day are so sweet!! I hope your day is wonderful and special <3

    3. Eeek! You're back!!

*Pokes head out from hole and runs to open YouTube to type in songs* All right, they're in my watch later!

Yes, I did! I watched one every week of November till the end, and I was joined by several of my siblings! It was really nice to rewatch them, even if it was for the thousandth time, hehe! That sounds lovely! What a coincidence that the first one was playing!

Thank you!! That's okay! I definitely missed you here in the blogging world, but I figured you were busy with your wedding. Speaking of which, unless it hasn't passed yet, how was your special day?!!

(I must echo Nie’s comment and add that the photos you chose are, indeed, quite beautiful. So fall-ish and perfect!)

  4. Hi! Hello! Greetings! *waves awkwardly*

Hehe, sitting here right now in my cute-but-uncomfortable boots, I understand your rationale for choosing sneakers. But after all, "Let us be fashionable or die!"

I manage to work around the "bookstore or thrift store" question by visiting the book section AT the thrift store. ;) (But I admit, I'd probably choose thrift store anyway. I don't usually decide to read books just by cover appeal (and when I do want to read a new book I'll request it from the library - I'm a bit of a cheapskate, I'm afraid), so bookstores don't hold immense appeal for me.)

Lovely to meet you, and to discover your lovely blog!

    1. Well, hello there! *waves back*

      Lol to the footwear comment!!

Haha, nice workaround! I'm the exact same, if I want to read a book, I'll request in from my local library. Libraries are such fantastic inventions! While I love the idea of thrift stores, I've such a bad allergy to dust, that it can quite ruin the experience for me.

Lovely to meet you, too, thank you, and thank you for commenting!
