Welcoming the Start of Summer

A happy summer to you, dearest reader! And congratulations to any recent graduates!

I ended up changing the look of my blog back to its original theme. I'm happy I tried out something different for a while, but, for the present, this theme fits what I write and my aesthetic more than the other two did.

How have you been spending the first few days of Summer? A significant portion of my summer days have been spent following Stray Kids on the U.S. leg of their tour. I'm more attentive to what's going on with the tour now then when I was when they were in other countries since this leg is ours, and I'm really hoping they have a great time here. 

It's been beyond exciting getting to see each U.S. city prepare for their concert. When I browse Amazon or Etsy, reviews for Stray kids shirts, accessories, and merch are full of people announcing they purchased the item for their concert stop. Etsy shops themselves are going on break as the owners prep to travel to their respective concert stops. Friends are going together, siblings are going together, couples are going together, parents and teens are going together. 

From videos uploaded around the clock of Stay vlogging their time at the shows and showing fun interactions with the members, to Reddit threads where fans help each other with merch lines, parking, and other concert tips, it's been an awesome time to be a part of this fandom!

It's made me realize I haven't been in a fandom that held this much hype for something since way back in 2018 and 2019 when Infinity War and Endgame came out. As a brief aside, I had the great, great fortune of seeing both Infinity War and Endgame on opening night, and if you weren't there, let me tell you, the energy from the fans was insane! We gasped at the same time, laughed at the same time, applauded wildly at the same time, even cried at the same time! Though I have writing issues with both films, it was so fun getting to experience them with so many other fans. I've realized it's the community aspect of a fandom that I've been missing these past several years. And so I've been so happy to find Stray Kids after all this time because they've managed to create a really incredible and kind community around themselves and their art.
