I think this movie is best watched without knowing anything about the plot, so I'm going to give as little detail as possible here about all that. Therefore, I shall mostly be sharing #v i b e s. XD

I absolutely loved all the characters in this movie, and their interactions with each other were hilarious! As for who was my favorite character... Well, if you decide to watch it, I think you’ll know him the moment he speaks. Pretty much every other line from him was some little nugget of profound wisdom or deep encouragement. I loved every scene he was in.

My absolute favorite scene though was this training montage that might just be my favorite training montage in all of cinema history. It was just so encouraging and honestly, somehow empowering.

Like, for me, as the viewer. I felt empowerered. Obviously, during a training montage, the character doing the training grows throughout the time depicted, but for some reason, watching this one, I felt as though I grew too. That is the best way I can describe it.

They did an excellent job on the soundtrack. There's a specific theme that played in all the most beautiful and emotional parts and it was just so epic.

In regard to the film’s songs, I'd seen "Kiss the Sky" around on the internet for awhile but hadn't listened to it yet because if songs are attached to a film I prefer to see the film first to know the original context. The scene in which a song plays often adds a special layer of meaning you don't get if you just listen to the song by itself. But, while I didn’t check it out, the title sounded pretty so I suspected I would like it. To my surprise, however, I ended up loving the end credit song, "Even When I'm Not" more.

The messages of both songs though are so beautiful. "Kiss the Sky" is about pushing past fear and setting out to live life to the fullest. And "Even When I'm Not" is about the loved ones you leave behind when you do that, and how much they're rooting for you from afar. <3

I totally get why so many people said they cried watching this film. The themes are so good and so powerfully incorporated into the movie.

Not fitting in because you are different. Having to learn how to keep up with your peers in spite of these differences, but also somehow find a way to thrive in all the unique ways that make you you. Stepping out to live life with so many uncertainties and fears and pain at the parting of ways as people go in different directions. Pouring love and care into those around you and hoping, praying it is enough for when the storms come. Having to redefine who you are in new seasons of life. The eventual, heart wrenching letting go of the seasons of life and the people that redefined you when it is time for those seasons to end.

Growing up, spreading your wings, and flying off to live this life, mistakes and all, hardships and all.

This movie has reminded me why I so adore family films. When they’re written just right, there’s something meaningful for every age to walk away with.

Here’s a song I’ve been enjoying lately:
"Gravity of Love". The Brilliance
Fav lyric  --> "even as we run / hope is chasing us"
