Happy October! :)

Dear readers, happy October!

Somehow we are in the final quarter of the year. In many ways, I feel like the year just started, but in others looking back it's like, yeah, that thing was a while ago, wasn't it?

2026 has not been the best so far. And it's pretty disappointing because, after a string of really tough years, I had wanted 2026 to be the one where things finally turned around. But no matter. Even if things haven't been easy, all we can do is keep on keeping on.

And choose gratitude in it all. Because there are some things about the year so far to be happy about.

For one, I've written over 100 pages in my work in progress!! I'm currently at 217 pages and I'd love to hit 300 before the year is up. I'm going at a pretty slow pace, so I don't know if I'll make it, but it's okay if I don't. I just want to see if I can. :)

Number two is that I've blogged a ton this year, 28 posts (including this one!) for With Joy, and 9 posts for Twilight Skies! I love all the posts I've managed to put out this year, but there are several in particular that I'm especially happy with.

Also!! A huge shout out to all of you for reading what I’ve publish here in 2026 so far. Thank you! It means the world! ♡ I have several more posts I’d love to publish before the year ends, so let’s see if I manage it!

Though, if I'm being honest, more than an amount of pages and posts, it's the mindset of writing that I most want to work on in the last three months of the year. I want to feel peaceful this autumn. I want to have a peaceful autumn. And one thing I know will help with that is letting go of trying to be perfect when it comes to my writing, both here and in the books I'm working on.

No matter how many times I tell myself to let it go, I still want to be perfect in this craft of mine. To find the perfect word choice, to create the perfect sentence and paragraph flow. And even though I literally set up this blog as my space to be messy, I continually forget that XD. But if I detach a little more, if I keep on giving myself the grace to show up imperfect, knowing that I can't please everyone, I'm fairly certain I'm going to fall back in love with writing, and that the thought of the craft won't freak me out like it has been doing lol.

Reader, I would love to hear from you!
How have the past nine months been? Any wins you’d care to share?

I hope the days of 2026 have been kind to you so far, but even if they haven't, let's put on bravery one more time for the last three months and end the year strong, doing all we can to usher good things into our lives and into the lives of those around us.

Thanks so, so much for visiting my blog today!
Here's to the final quarter of the year!
May it be spectacular!
