The Sunshine Blogger Award Tag

Hello, world!

Lizzie tagged me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, my very first time being intentionally tagged for a blog tag! Thank you, Lizzie! <3

From my knowledge, the Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who you feel bring light and positivity to the blogging community, so I'm glad to have been nominated for something as bright and happy as that!

Tag rules:

1. Display the award’s official logo somewhere on your blog.

2. Thank the person who nominated you.

3. Provide a link to your nominator’s blog.

4. Answer your nominator’s questions.

5. Nominate up to 11 bloggers.

6. Ask your nominees 11 questions.

7. Notify your nominees by commenting on at least one of their blog posts.

Now, on to Lizzie's questions!

1. What was your first word?

I've no idea.
It was probably "dad"
, though. My mom says most of my siblings' first words were "dad" instead of "mom", despite her fervent coaxing for us to say the later!

2. It’s a rainy afternoon. Would you most enjoy going outside and feeling the rain on your face Marianne-Dashwood-style, curling up in a window seat with a good book, or getting your favorite music on and doing some housecleaning?

Window seat!

3. What does your handwriting look like?

4. Which decade in history do you think had the best women’s fashion, and which decade had the best men’s fashion?

As a woman, for my own personal style, I love a cross between 80s and y2k-2010s fashion. I wouldn't say it's the best women have ever dressed, but I really love it. (Think oversized sweaters/sweatshirts and slim tees with high-waisted, loose-fitting jeans and sneakers/tennis shoes.)

For favorite men's fashion, it's not really a decade that's my favorite, because I'm not sure how historically accurate the costumes are, but I really love what men wear in medieval fantasy media. (Think The Lord of the Rings films or BBC's Merlin.)

5. What’s your dream career?

One of my dream careers is to be a published author!

6. Name three to five of your favorite fictional characters.

Harry Potter. He’s the character I think of when I think of one I grew up with, so he holds a special place in my heart.

Keith Kogane. From Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender. A lone wolf, called upon by the greatest threats to face the universe to be a hero, a fighter, and a leader. He's an absolute boss!

Naksu. From Netflix’s Alchemy of Souls. A cunning assassin on the outside, a young woman desperate for love and friendship on the inside. I was rooting for her to turn good so hard!

7. What’s one virtue that particularly attracts you in other people?

Confidence. And I do not mean overconfidence or arrogance. I mean a quiet surety in who you are and who God is. I mean someone who is so comfortable in their own skin they can’t help but create spaces where others feel the exact same.

8. If you write, which authors do you think have most influenced your writing style? (If you don’t, which authors’ styles do you most admire?)

J. K. Rowling. Most of my earliest writings were actually emulating her writing voice, in humor and in composition of prose.

9. What are the three best and three worst period dramas you’ve seen? (Broaden this to movies in general if you’re not a period drama person.)

I easily forget the movies I don’t like, and I try not to publicly shame the ones I really hate, so I can’t answer the last half of the question.

For the first, three of the best films I've seen include:

Maze Runner: The death Cure. The entire final battle/climax was like, over an hour, and I ADORE films with long action sequences! The Maze Runner movies are the only film series I believe to be IMMACULATE all the way through!

The Dark Knight Rises. The absolute epicness of the finale! The bridges, the bomb, the tunnels!!

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005). Love the visual beauty of this sweet, fantasy film. It’s just so wholesome and feels like coming home.

10. Who were some of your earliest role models (either real or fictional)?

Besides Jesus, I don't think I really had any role models when I was a kid. Now that I'm older though, one of my role models is Joseph from Genesis. Because though he lost so much again and again, he remained faithful. <3

11. What’s one of your favorite prayers/Bible verses?

"'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11 <3

Thanks again for the tag, Lizzie! This was so much fun!

And now, here are my eleven questions!

1. What fictional character do you believe you could survive the zombie apocalypse with? i.e. they wouldn't fumble in the way of the group's survival, or try and purposefully trip you while you're both running! XD

2. Do you have someone in real life who you believe you could survive the zombie apocalypse with? (Can be celebrity or someone you know)

3. Do you have any books I absolutely must read?

4. A song I absolutely must listen to?

5. The government announces the world is ending in one hour. What are you gonna do? (Dumb answers only XD)

6. If you started a YouTube channel, what would you post?

7. Favorite story trope?

8. If you're a writer, where are you at with your current work in progress?

9. How good are you at riddles?

10. A dessert recipe I absolutely must try?

11. Any fun hopes or dreams for the summer?

As for tagging other internet fellows, I fear I do not know anyone who hasn’t already been tagged in this round.

In perusing Nie’s site, I don’t think she has been, so I tag her!

As for the rest of you, whether you have or haven’t already been tagged in this round, feel free to answer my questions! If you do answer them, don't forget to come back and tell me so I can see them!!

  1. That's so funny about your siblings' first word. xD Mine was 'bubba' for brother - which makes sense, since I have a lot of them!

It's really cool that confidence in others attracts you - it actually doesn't really for me? I think I tend to associate it with overconfidence or self-absorption, but obviously, as you say, they aren't the same thing.

Joseph is SUCH a great role model! And I love that verse as well. <3

Thank you for doing the tag! :)

    1. Aw, that's so cute!

I get that. And it takes time to learn the difference in yourself and in others. But when I find someone with that quiet surety I'm talking about, I always really admire them.

      He most certainly is!

You're very welcome! Thanks again for tagging me! :)

    1. Nope, this is your first time! Hi-hi! So nice to virtually meet you!
I'm happy you liked the post!
      Thanks so much for commenting!
p.s. your blog is really cute, and if I'm not mistaken, you've a photo of "of fire and ash" by Gillian Bronte Adams on one of your about pages, and that series is one of my favorites of ones that are still coming out! :)
